Description:
A Sunderland Lustre mug boasting a striking portrait of the famous Methodist John Wesley in profile. Sporting floral patterns on both the handle and the inside of the rim and overpainted in enamel colours. A section of verse decorates the reverse side.
Probably Scott's Southwick Pottery.
Circa 1830-40
Approx - 4 inches (100mm) tall x 4 inches (100mm) dia.
In good condition throughout, original imperfections (glazed over) to rim and baseline.
